Frequently Asked Questions

How can I afford Doula Services?

Everyone deserves to have a doula! Check to see if your insurance plan covers doula services. Families can use their HSA towards services. Set up a fund on your baby registry and share with your loved ones the importance of a supportive birth team. Don’t hesitate to ask about payment plans. Trades, Barters, & “Pay what you can” are always considered.

Should I hire a Midwife or a Doula for my homebirth?

Hire Both! A midwife and a doula have some overlapping responsibilities but your midwife will be the one you turn to as your provider for medical care while your doula is there for your non medical needs like advocacy, education, emotional and physical support.

Do you attend freebirth/unassisted homebirth?

I do attend unassisted home birth with the understanding that I do not provide medical care or take the place of a medical provider. I can offer services as a witness for birth and help with getting birth certificates etc. Families who choose an unassisted birth with a birthkeeper take full responsibility for the outcomes and reap the benefits of following their intuition, having an autonomous pregnancy and birth, having a birth attendant that trusts in the birth process and can help clean up and get everyone settled after.
